Greg is a husband, dad, pastor, author, US NAVY Officer and Chaplain, and the founder of GIBSON LEADERSHIP, NATIONS CHURCH, and the co-founder of SALT.
IN 2023, the Gibson family moved back to the Washington, DC area to found and plant NATIONS CHURCH using the SALT DNA. On September 10, 2023, several families came together to begin meeting, praying, and working towards the goal of founding NATIONS CHURCH in early 2024. Nations Church launched Sunday gatherings on March 31, 2024 at Mercer Middle School.
In 2022, Greg stepped away from the FC staff (but remained as an elder) to develop GIBSON LEADERSHIP, further build SALT, and work towards other strategic global initiatives. Greg currently gives global leadership to SALT and travels extensively around Eastern Europe training and developing pastors in the SALT DNA.
IN 2020, Greg co-founded and now leads a global leadership development organization called SALT. SALT exists to train pastors to plant churches that serve the nations through gospel-driven leadership development. To date, Greg has trained over 1,000+ leaders globally to plant churches through SALT training events. SALT has partnered with 50+ pastors in the Russian speaking context, and SALT is now exploring partnerships in the Spanish speaking, Farsi speaking world, Tagalog speaking world, and more.
ALSO IN 2020, Greg re-joined the FOOTHILLS CHURCH team in August of 2020 as the Multisite Pastor and led the creation of the multisite strategy and other strategic leadership initiatives. In September of 2021, Greg launched the second location of Foothills Church, called FOOTHILLS CHURCH KNOXVILLE, alongside Pastor Trent Stewart (the Lead Pastor of FC).
IN 2016, Greg planted VERITAS CITY CHURCH in the Georgetown community of Washington, DC. In 2020, after Veritas grew to over 200+ people meeting in DC, he passed the leadership to Pastor Dale Sutherland (the former Lead Pastor at McLean Bible Church). Veritas City Church closed their doors during in late 2022, but had five amazing years of gospel ministry in Georgetown.
IN 2010, after graduating from seminary, Greg helped plant FOOTHILLS CHURCH in Maryville, TN. During this time, he served as an elder, the next generation pastor, and missions pastor.
Greg has a BA from Boyce College, and a MDiv and ThM from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Greg’s content creation interests specifically are Great Commission living, marriage and family, financial stewardship, and church planting/global missions, and he has created many resources in each category.
Most importantly, he is married to Grace, and he is the proud father of Cora and Iver. They reside in the Washington, DC area.

Greg has provided leadership coaching/consulting for churches around the world of all sizes (from 5-person teams to 15,000 person churches) for the last decade.
Contact MeAll coaching meetings are from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM ET, Monday through Friday.
Greg does not travel for coaching meetings, and he would not be available for a “site visit” outside of the DC area, per his responsibilities at Nations Church.
Coaching clients are committed to on an “as available” basis.
All meetings happen via Zoom.
All meetings are 60-minutes.
There is no contract.
All coaching is month-to-month, as desired and as needed.
Cost is discussed during the “learning meeting.”

Every pastor needs someone who is “on call” as they are working to make decisions and process real time ministry in a safe and confidential space.
GL provides a service called “Pastoral Advisory,” which is an as-needed advisory call for busy pastors. If coaching is “looking forward,” advisory is “looking backwards or looking in the moment.”
There are no set meetings for this service. These connection times are simply as-needed by you. Think of it as “pastoral insurance.” It’s there when you need it.
